Moving day: what to expect
Knowing how the day runs takes most of the stress out of it. Here’s what happens, in order.
- Before the crew arrivesYour essentials box is in your car, the parking spot is clear, and kids and pets are looked after.
- The walkthroughThe crew lead walks through with you, checks what’s moving and notes anything fragile or heavy.
- LoadingHeavy furniture goes in first, wrapped and strapped. Boxes fill the gaps. Beds and tables are taken apart.
- On the roadYou get WhatsApp updates while the truck is on its way.
- UnloadingYou show the crew where things go. Beds go back together, boxes go to their rooms.
- Before they leaveWalk through every room with the crew lead, check for damage, then pay the balance.
Should I tip?
It’s never expected. If you want to say thanks, cold drinks on a hot day go a long way.
